Plot Twist! ​My brain has pivoted from push-ups to plot twists. Best known until now as a seniors’ fitness expert and founder of The Move More Institute™, I have been featured on CBC Radio, CTV Morning Live, Thrive Global, and other outlets that suggest I know what I'm talking about. My wellness motto is and always will be, “Move more, feel better.” These days, I'm adding a new motto: “Sip tea, pet cat, solve fictional crimes.”

In addition to my nonfiction works and my first novel, Selfried and the Secrets, I am thrilled to introduce The Catmint Chronicles—my first (but certainly not last) cozy mystery series to burst forth from my ever-scheming grey matter. Think quirky villagers, suspicious herbs, and one sometimes-talking cat. The prequel to the series, Cinnamon and the Tangle of Thyme, is free to anyone who signs up for my newsletter. My mission is one of health promotion. I want to help you add more movement, both exercise and non-exercise activity, to your busy life so you can feel better and enjoy life. Are you too busy to go to a gym to workout? Perhaps you're uncomfortable working out in a public setting. I make fitness more accessible to you.  My first book, Move More, Your Life Depends On It: Practical Tips to Add More Movement to Your Day, offers common sense solutions to help you add non-exercise activity to your busy life.  My second book, Balance and Your Body: How Exercise Can Help You Avoid a Fall, is geared to seniors who want to maintain their independence and prevent falls. If you're a professional sitter, and you spend too many hours in a seated position every day, my third book, Your Job Is Killing You: A User's Guide to Sneaking Exercise Into Your Work Day, is for you. Free online workouts for seniors!

I created four 30-minute exercise videos for the Ottawa Public Library. You can access the videos on their YouTube channel
1. Standing Mobility Workout
2. Standing Strength Workout
3. Seated Workout
4. Lying Down Workout

The online courses, 3 Days to Better Balance and Balance 2.0,  are now unlocked and available for free.
These mini courses will help you improve body awareness and coordination,  strengthen your brain-body connection, and learn how to use your feet more - taking off your shoes and getting those feet activated! ​The exercises and tips are designed to improve muscle strength, joint flexibility, and body awareness. All of these components are critical to maintaining good balance as you age.
